Being an independent contractor allows me to work when I can
Being an independent contractor pulled me up out of five years of depression. After losing my job I worked at for 20 years and becoming homeless my life just stood still. If I weren't able to work when I can, I would still be sitting there lost in space. I had gotten carpal tunnel syndrome from working all those years. A regular job would not put up with me, having to take breaks, to rest my hands, when I'm in pain. Being an independent contractor allows me to work when I can, without the constant demand of a regular job. If I wasn't able to work when I can, work would be impossible for me.
