I began driving for Lyft when my long term job ended. I'm older and was way past the panic mode. I pieced together what I could for income and just found work wherever I could. To make things even more interesting, I also got a large rent increase. We don't have rent control where I live. I started driving for Lyft to pay my rent and that's exactly what it does for me...I am able to drive when I want and if I need additional cash for something, I pick up an hour or two on my way home. Without Lyft, I honestly don't know what would happen to me. So many of us are living paycheck to paycheck in Silicon Valley and Lyft has been a godsend. It worries me that I might not always have the opportunity to drive since the laws are changing. I love the fact that my income is up to me and I can structure it around my other jobs...I am TRULY grateful to Lyft for the opportunity to have my side gig and take care of myself and my family all on my own.
