I love being an independent contractor because my success is based on my motivation

I was working at a fast food restaurant for $10/hr and trying to take classes at the same time. I could never get more than 34 hours a week and work would clash with my class schedule. I gave up on school just to make the bare minimum needed to survive. I decided to try Lyft because I heard there was flexibility and no limit to how many hours you could work. I’ve now been driving for 16 months. I average $27-30 an hour and have been able to go back to school! Keeping this flexibility is so important. I love being an independent contractor because my success is based on my motivation. It’s the reason I joined Lyft in the first place. I’m grateful for what I’ve been able to achieve with Lyft.
