I have been only substitute teaching over the past five years and so these cuts to my income have really made it tough for me to survive. So to help me survive financially during COVID, I started doing Postmates deliveries which have been a godsend for me financially and have helped me keep my head above water. If this source of income is taken away from me, it may put me out on the streets to rely totally on unemployment. There is no need for this kind of regulations/laws to be put on the books forcing these drivers off the roads. It will make things a whole lot worse for many Californians who rely on app-based driving as their only source of income. This is not to mention the millions of Californians that use food delivery services and rideshare apps.
