Due to the flexibility of driving rideshare I was able to leave my career to take care of my uncle
A couple of years ago my uncle was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I was at a loss as to what to do. I had a lucrative career but knew I needed to take care of the family but I also still had bills to pay. Due to the flexibility of driving rideshare I was able to leave my career to take care of my uncle in his last 6 months of life as well as take over care of my 90+ year old grandfather (my uncle was caring for him previously). I also have a teenage daughter so rideshare has allowed me to take care of family first. I have since built another business and drive rideshare very part-time now. I'd hate to see others lose these opportunities because of the new law.
