It allows me the freedom to pick and chose the time and days I get to earn extra income to make ends meet. Rideshare drivers provided communities and their essential workers the opportunity to maintain their employment while benefiting those individuals that need transportation to obtain life-saving medical treatments, such as dialysis.
I am fairly new to this type of job and If I am able to help bring a small amount of comfort by the simple act of just delivering their food, I'm am doing my part to keep the community safe during this stressful situation.
During this horrific virus, turning our lives upside down, I am a delivery driver, offering takes out food, groceries, supplies, and pharmacy items to shut-ins. We are also helping these businesses survive in this unprecedented disaster. Forcing independent contractors to be employees will end this important help to shut-ins.
I drive my kids to school, provide home studies at home and take care of my 92-year-old senior citizen mother. I am a veteran and cannot hold a normal job, I need a flexible job like Lyft.
As a disabled veteran my SS income just wasn't enough to get by, and certainly not enough to pay my debt off. As a grandpa I wanted to help my family when they needed me. Because of my disabilities I can't adhere to locked-in punch the clock work. I give 100% service to my customers’ needs and demands. For my circumstances and abilities this is truly the only kind of employment that will allow me to be productive and have pride in my efforts.
I have chronic illnesses that prevent me from being able to work a traditional job. Delivering for Postmates gives me the opportunity to work when I am able. It feels good to be earning money for myself again, without the constant worry of being fired for missing too much work.
I am a retired individual who needs to supplement my retirement, in order for me to do that I need the flexibility to fit work with all my other demands. Driving for an app-based organization makes that possible, this is the only work with that degree of flexibility! Without this opportunity, I would not be able to supplement my income! That would create a hardship for me! The independence and flexibility of app-based work is unique and must be preserved as an option!
